Dear friends,

Teaching staff and administration of Lugansk Building College of Transport Engineering present our condolences to Frank Kroeyer’s family and friends.
We suffer a great loss! The kindness of Frank’s heart, sincere care that brought the warmth to people, his wisdom and extra-ordinary strength of mind – all these are very dear and memorable to us. It really is a pity when such people leave us forever. How much he’ll still be able to do in his life!
We’ll be short of his experience, knowledge and friendly talks! We’ll always remember Frank’s ability to unite people from different countries and make them real friends!
May his memory live long !

I’m late with my sincere condolences : it’s just today, on returning from my summer leave, I’ve been struck by the awful fact of Frank’s death. Though we all knew that he is deteriorating but to hear about his going…It’s unpreditably hard. Frank Kroyer — this name well known from Japan and Nepal to New World — and very dear in our Ukraine — concentrates a lot of features that are rarely good tempered in one person. He was a creator and coordinator by his nature : the heart of his big family — tender and careful husbond, father, grandpa — , the teacher dearly beloved and appreciated by his pupils, the farmer dearly gratified by his garden and cattle, the friend admired by colleagues and adherents, a creature that’d never stop in endless noble activities for the sake of peace and mutual understanding, for the sake of love and friendship, for the sake of joining efforts of people of good will. He was always young both in his desires and powers. And he was a real democrate.I dare translate some lines from the great Russian poet Nikolai Nekrasov. These lines were written more than 150 years ago but res to Frank they sound quite contemporary:
Oh, Mother Nature ! If sometimes
You didn’t grant such people to below,
You would produce not songs but cries
And all your fields would overgrow…
Those who knew Frank do agree. The rest have to.

  • Fatma xanım:

Greetings from the family of Frank krøyer
Dear friends and personal network knowing Frank Krøyer Kristensen.

-From Oksana we have recieved mails from all of you (and forgive us if we have missed some…)

We have with great emotions read all your mails, filled with warm and hartfull greetings.
We are deeply touched and honoured by the concern and support that you all showed Frank in his difficult time.
Frank had great pleasure in knowing all of you and the ITA and the personal relations were very dear and important to him. We know he did not manage to follow up on his contacts during his ilness -but you were in his thoughts!

Frank suffered from a rare kidney cancer that could not be cured. He did get the best treatment possible, which helped him a lot. He did not suffer any pain during his illness, and he died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family 31/7. He was set to peace in a ceremony on Thursday 5/8.

His last will was that in stead of flowers for his funeral people were asked to donate to the school project in Nepal. Allready now many donations have been received.

Niels Christensen ITA will administrate the funds.

We hope and trust that you will continue the good ITA work Frank would be happy and proud of that!

We thank you again for your support and thoughts, and send back our best wishes to you all.

Sincere greetings from Franks wife Mette and his sons Per and Lars.

  • The letter from Bombay, India.
I am so sorry to note that our friend Frank Kroeyer is no more in the physical world.
But he is all the more closer to us, because now he can meet us everywhere.
Earlier, I had met him only on two occasions. I do not remember the first
meeting, but the second meeting was at his home in Denmark. Please
convey my sympathies to his wife.

I will send you my article later for the special commemorative volume of ITA
dedicated to Frank Kroeyer. Or you may use this comment as my final salute to
this dedicated educationist known worldwide for innovation.

Dear ITA- editors, executive committee, friends etc.

As you probably already know Frank Krøyer has died. He was not only editor of the International Teacher Post for many years, he was also the founder of the ITA and I think it is fair to say, that without Frank there would have been no ITA Post and no ITA at all.

In the Danish branch of the ITA we are now seriously considering the situation. There will be no new Frank! None of us have the resources to do what he did. We do however have money to print the next couple of issues of the ITA Post, and together with Jytte Svendsen(

  • Finally, an issue that I am passionate about. I have looked for information of this caliber for the last several hours. Your site is greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you for your appreciation of our work.
